The things I sacrifice for a good shot...

My official biggest fan, Ellen, let me take some photos of her daughters and niece last weekend. They were such a fun group of girls. I always wanted a sister when I was growing up! Anyway, we had the PERFECT weather at a beautiful park in Maryland and I really wanted to get some photos on a hill by the lake with this great flowering tree in the background. I had to position myself just right on the side of the hill to get the shot. I had to leverage myself so as to not fall down the hill into the water. Everything was going fine until.....rrrrriiiiiiippppppp. Uh oh. There went my jeans. And this was no little r-i-p I tell you. This was a rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippppppppppppppppppp. Like something from the movies. I am lucky I had any pants left. Luckily I had brought my jacket along so I tied it around my waist until I got home. Oh the things I sacrifice for a good shot. I'd better cut back on the cupcakes.

Spring weekend in Georgetown....

While everyone else was "touristing" down on the national mall, we snagged some quality time in Georgetown...just three girlfriends who wanted some sassy photos together. What a fun shoot!

The Purvis family picked the perfect weekend for some family photos amid the flowers and trees in full bloom at the Smithsonian Castle! A big thanks to my college friends, Trip and Bethany for introducing me to such a fun family to work with!

What an absolutely wonderful first day of Spring. I feel like I have been cooped up for months in my apartment so I was thrilled when I saw the forecast for my photoshoot with Teshia and her sons. Sunny skies and highs in the 70's! Now, to be fair, the boys were a tid bit chilly in short sleeve shirts at 9am but hey, they look great so it paid off, right?!? They were very good sports! Matt and I dusted off our bicycles and met them at the Lincoln Memorial before the tourist rush. Great location, great models, (and a great assistant who patiently waited and watched the bikes and then took me to Georgetown for lunch) = great day.
